How to Photograph Your Car for Maximum Enquiries
Listings with quality photos get three times more messages. Here is exactly how to take them.

Listings with high-quality photos receive substantially more enquiries than those with poor images or too few shots. For cars specifically, buyers are making decisions about whether to travel — often significant distances — based on what they can see. Better photos reduce wasted viewings for both sides.
01.Location and light
Photograph in natural daylight — overcast days often work better than direct sun, which creates harsh shadows and reflections on bodywork. A neutral background with nothing distracting. A car park with other vehicles visible is fine; a cluttered driveway is not.
02.The minimum shot list
Cover these angles every time:
- Front three-quarter (the hero shot — front left corner at a slight angle)
- Rear three-quarter (opposite side)
- Driver's side profile
- Passenger side profile
- Front grille straight on
- Interior dashboard from the driver's door
- Rear seats
- Boot open
- Engine bay
- Odometer reading
- Any existing damage or wear — show it honestly
03.Showing damage honestly
Photograph all existing damage clearly. Buyers who travel to view a car and discover undisclosed damage waste their time and yours, and rarely proceed with the purchase. Showing damage upfront filters out non-serious buyers and builds trust with serious ones.
04.Common mistakes to avoid
Low-angle dramatic shots that hide damage. Dark interior photos with no flash. Including other people or children in the car. Photographing with the car parked too close to a wall. Uploading fewer than eight photos for any car.
