Listing Standards
Rules governing what
may be listed on ListU.
These Listing Standards apply to all listings posted on ListU. By posting a listing, you confirm that it complies with these standards and the ListU Terms of Service.Valentino Platinum Ltd may remove any listing that breaches these standards without prior notice.

General Requirements
All listings posted on ListU must meet the following baseline requirements regardless of category:
- You must own or have the legal authority to sell the item or offer the service listed
- The listing must accurately represent what is being sold or offered
- The listing must be in the correct category for the item or service
- The listing must not duplicate an existing active listing for the same item
- All required category-specific fields must be completed accurately
- At least one clear photograph of the actual item must be included for physical goods
- A clear, specific price must be stated or the listing marked as "Price on application" where appropriate
- Contact must be handled through the ListU platform messaging system

Prohibited Items and Services
The following categories of items and services may not be listed on ListU under any circumstances. This list is not exhaustive — the operator reserves the right to remove any listing it deems harmful, illegal, or inappropriate.

Accuracy and Honesty
Listings must accurately and honestly represent the item or service being offered.
Required accuracy
- Title must accurately describe the item — no keyword stuffing or misleading terms
- Description must be factually accurate and not omit material defects
- Condition must be stated honestly: New / As New / Good / Fair / Poor or equivalent
- Any defects, damage, or missing components must be disclosed
- Year, mileage, specifications, and technical details must be accurate where applicable
Prohibited misrepresentation
- Listing a used item as new
- Omitting known defects that would materially affect a buyer's decision
- Using another listing's photos to represent a different item
- Claiming false provenance, history, or authenticity
- Inflating specifications, mileage, age, or other measurable attributes

Image Requirements
All listings for physical goods must include at least one photograph. Images must meet the following standards:
Required
- At least one image showing the actual item being sold
- Images must be clear, well-lit, and accurately represent the item
- You must own or have the right to use all images in your listing
Prohibited
- Stock images, manufacturer images, or images of a different item presented as the actual item
- Images with overlaid text, watermarks from other platforms, or promotional overlays
- Images containing personal information, faces, or third-party content without consent
- Misleading images that do not represent the condition or completeness of the item

Pricing
- A price must be clearly stated in GBP (£) for all listings
- "Price on application" (POA) is permitted where a fixed price is genuinely not applicable
- Prices must not be artificially high to circumvent listing limits or platform policies
- No listing may include hidden charges, mandatory add-ons, or undisclosed fees
- Where VAT applies to a business sale, this must be stated clearly
- Listing prices must reflect the actual item — not a deposit or instalment

Category Requirements
Listings must be placed in the correct category. Miscategorised listings will be removed or recategorised at the operator's discretion.
Motors
Vehicles being sold, not rentals. Must include make, model, year, mileage, fuel type, and registration details.
Property
Properties for sale or rent. Must include address, price, bedrooms, and tenure type.
Jobs
Employment opportunities only. Must include role title, location, employment type, and salary range where possible.
For Sale
Tangible physical goods. Must include condition and at least one photograph.
Services
Services provided by a person or business. Must clearly describe what is offered and the service area.
Pets
Subject to PAAG standards (see Section 8). Microchipping, vaccination status, and breeder information required.

Business User Listings
Users selling commercially must hold a Business User account. Listings from Business Users are subject to additional requirements:
- Business name must match the registered or trading name of the business
- Commercial sellers must comply with all applicable UK consumer protection law, including providing cancellation rights where required
- Distance selling regulations apply to goods sold by businesses to consumers online
- VAT registration status must be accurately reflected if VAT is charged
- Business Users may not use Private User accounts for commercial activity

Pets Listings
ListU follows the Pet Advertising Advisory Group (PAAG) minimum standards for all pet listings. All pet advertisements must include:
- The age of the animal
- The breed (or description if mixed)
- Whether the animal is microchipped
- Vaccination status
- For dogs: whether the seller is a licensed breeder (Breeding Licence details where applicable)
- Country of origin and, where applicable, import documentation
- A clear photograph of the actual animal
The following are prohibited in Pets listings:
- Listing animals under 8 weeks old
- Listing animals for sale by pet shops or dealers without appropriate licensing
- Listings that do not show the animal in its current environment
- Listings for exotic or endangered animals without appropriate CITES documentation

Motors Listings
Required information
- Make, model, derivative, and year of manufacture
- Current mileage (odometer reading)
- Fuel type and transmission type
- MOT expiry date (if applicable)
- Service history status
- Number of previous owners
- Full registration number or partial if preferred for privacy
- Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) available to serious buyers
Prohibited in Motors
- Listing a vehicle you do not own or have authority to sell
- Misrepresenting mileage, history, or condition
- Listing vehicles with outstanding finance without disclosure
- Listing stolen vehicles or vehicles subject to a retention marker
- Clocked or altered odometer readings
Buyers are encouraged to use HPI or similar vehicle history checks before purchase. ListU is not responsible for verifying vehicle history data.

Property Listings
- Full property address or approximate area must be provided
- Price must be stated clearly (asking price for sales, monthly rent for lettings)
- Property type, number of bedrooms, and tenure (freehold/leasehold/rental) must be stated
- EPC rating must be included where available and legally required
- Photographs must represent the actual property currently available
- Availability date must be stated for rental listings
- Landlords must comply with all applicable UK lettings legislation
- Listings for properties subject to a possession order or legal dispute must not imply vacant possession

Enforcement
Listing removal
ListU may remove any listing that breaches these standards or the Terms of Service at any time, without prior notice. Removal does not affect the user's obligation to comply with applicable law.
Account action
Repeated or serious breaches of Listing Standards may result in suspension or termination of the user's account. The operator's decision on enforcement matters is final.
Reporting
Users may report listings that appear to breach these standards using the Report listing function on any listing page, or by contacting support@listu.co.uk.
Appeals
If you believe a listing has been removed in error, contact support@listu.co.uk with your listing reference and the reason for your appeal. The operator will review appeals within 5 business days.
