Standards of conduct
on the ListU platform.

This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the standards of conduct required of all users of the ListU platform, operated by Valentino Platinum Ltd. It supplements the Terms of Service. Breach of this policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.

Scope of This Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to all users of the ListU platform — including registered users, unregistered visitors, Business Users, and Private Users — and to all use of the platform, including browsing, listing, messaging, and account management.

This policy applies in addition to the Terms of Service and the Listing Standards. In the event of conflict between this policy and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service take precedence.

Prohibited Conduct

The following conduct is prohibited on the ListU platform in all circumstances:

Fraud and deception

  • Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or content
  • Impersonating any person, business, or the operator
  • Creating fake accounts or identities to circumvent account restrictions or bans
  • Operating multiple accounts for the same individual or entity without explicit operator permission
  • Fabricating reviews, ratings, feedback, or transaction history

Harassment and abuse

  • Harassing, threatening, or intimidating other users
  • Sending unsolicited messages, spam, or repeated unwanted contact
  • Using abusive, offensive, or discriminatory language in any platform communication
  • Sharing another user's personal information without their consent (doxxing)

Illegal activity

  • Using the platform to facilitate any activity that is unlawful under UK law
  • Attempting to launder money or process fraudulent payments through platform transactions
  • Using the platform in connection with organised criminal activity
  • Evading sanctions, export controls, or trade restrictions

Platform integrity

  • Attempting to manipulate search rankings, listing visibility, or platform algorithms
  • Coordinating with other users to artificially inflate or manipulate pricing
  • Posting listings with the primary purpose of harvesting contact details from buyers
  • Using the platform to redirect traffic to competing platforms through systematic contact harvesting

Communication Standards

All communications between users through the ListU messaging system must meet the following standards:

  • Communications must be directly relevant to the listing or transaction in question
  • Users must not send unsolicited commercial messages, promotions, or advertisements
  • Users must not request personal banking details, passwords, or sensitive personal information through messages
  • Users must not share external payment links or redirect buyers to external payment platforms
  • Threatening, abusive, or discriminatory language is prohibited in all communications
  • Users must not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to send messages in bulk

Off-platform communication

You may share personal contact details (phone, email) with another user through the messaging system once you have established genuine mutual intent to transact. You must not systematically collect or export contact details from the platform for any other purpose.

Account Use Standards

  • Each individual or entity may hold only one active account unless explicitly permitted by the operator
  • Account credentials must not be shared with third parties
  • Users must not access or attempt to access another user's account without authorisation
  • Users must keep their account registration information accurate and up to date
  • Users must not create accounts for the purpose of evading a suspension or ban
  • Business Users must not use Private User accounts for commercial selling activity
  • Accounts must not be sold, transferred, or assigned to another person or entity

Technical Use Standards

Users must not use or deploy technical means to interfere with, circumvent, or damage the platform:

  • Automated scraping, crawling, or harvesting of listings, contact details, or platform data without written permission
  • Using bots, scripts, or automation tools to post listings, send messages, or perform account actions
  • Attempting to bypass rate limits, access controls, or security measures
  • Probing, scanning, or testing platform infrastructure for vulnerabilities without authorisation
  • Introducing malware, viruses, or harmful code into the platform or its communications
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract the platform's source code
  • Using the platform's API or data feeds in ways not authorised by the operator

Content Standards

All content submitted to the platform — including listings, images, messages, and profile information — must meet the following standards:

  • Content must not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Content must not contain personal information about third parties without their consent
  • Content must not be defamatory, libellous, or make false statements of fact about any person or entity
  • Content must not promote or facilitate self-harm, harm to others, or illegal activity
  • Content must not contain sexually explicit material
  • Content must not promote or incite discrimination on grounds of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics
  • Content must not constitute hate speech under applicable UK law

Commercial Activity Standards

Classification

Users who sell commercially — including traders, dealers, businesses, and sole traders — must register and operate as Business Users. Using a Private User account for commercial selling is a breach of this policy and the Terms of Service.

Advertising and promotion

Listings must not be used as a vehicle for general advertising, brand promotion, or marketing that is not directly related to a genuine item or service for sale. Listings must represent a genuine offer to sell or provide a service.

Price manipulation

Users must not coordinate with other sellers to fix, maintain, or manipulate prices in a way that constitutes anti-competitive behaviour under applicable UK competition law.

Consumer rights obligations

Business Users selling to consumers must comply with all applicable UK consumer protection legislation, including cancellation rights, distance selling obligations, and product safety requirements.

Reporting Breaches

Users are encouraged to report suspected breaches of this policy using the available reporting tools:

  • Use the Report listing function on any listing page to report a listing that breaches these standards
  • Use the Report user function on any user profile to report account conduct
  • Contact safety@listu.co.uk for urgent safety or fraud concerns
  • Contact legal@listu.co.uk for intellectual property or legal compliance concerns

Reports are reviewed directly by the operator. We do not guarantee a specific outcome on every report, but all reports are actioned where a breach is confirmed.

Enforcement

Range of actions

The operator may take any of the following actions in response to a breach of this policy, at its sole discretion:

  • Removal of the offending listing or content
  • Formal warning to the account holder
  • Temporary suspension of account access
  • Permanent termination of the account
  • Reporting of conduct to law enforcement where legally required or appropriate
  • Civil or legal action where the breach causes harm to the operator or third parties

No obligation to warn

The operator is not obliged to provide prior warning before taking enforcement action. In cases of serious or urgent breach — including fraud, harassment, or illegal activity — action may be taken immediately.

Appeals

If you believe enforcement action was taken against your account in error, contact support@listu.co.uk with full details. Appeals are reviewed within 5 business days. The operator's decision on appeals is final.
